Known as the "isla bonita" (beautiful island), La Palma is an attractive tourist destination for fans of open-air activities and getting in touch with nature. The municipality of Fuencaliente, in the south of the island, is one of the most interesting places to visit in La Palma with a route that will allow you to walk to and admire the important volcanoes of Teneguía and San Antonio, considered natural monuments and the La Palma Salt Flats, declared Sites of Scientific Interest and one of the most visited places on the island.

Northeast of the island is El Roque de los Muchachos, located in the municipality of Garafía, about 46km from Santa Cruz de La Palma and 1 hour 45 min via car by mountain road, where the highest point of La Palma is reached. There you will discover one of the most emblematic natural monuments of the island through which to stroll in a spectacular environment with privileged views, getting to know one of the biggest tourist attractions of the Canary Islands.

Approximately one hour by car from the port of Santa Cruz de La Palma is Los Llanos de Aridane, in the south-west of La Palma, containing one of the island's main tourist resorts: Puerto Naos and its beach with its fine black sand at the foot of a cliff where there are still remains of past volcanic eruptions. The pleasant climate in this area of the island means you can enjoy swimming and other water sports and beautiful sunsets all year round.

Found in the east of La Palma, Los Cancajos is a fishing village that has adapted well to tourism but managed to keep its peaceful atmosphere. Just five kilometres from the airport, it's a beautiful spot that is very popular with scuba diving enthusiasts. Take a scuba diving class to discover its magical underwater world and then spend time relaxing on the beach - an unforgettable holiday experience that is popular among visitors.

La Palma’s marina is located in Santa Cruz, its capital, on the east coast. Conveniently situated very close to the city centre and shopping areas but also to the charming old town, the marina has 180 berths for boats of up to 20 metres and water depths up to eight metres. Each berth also benefits from electrical power, drinking water and free internet.

On the west coast of La Palma, in a beautiful natural setting that is perfect for unwinding, you’ll find the Tazacorte’s charming harbour. It offers a range of services, including a mechanics workshop, Wi-Fi and even a laundry area. The 341 moorings accommodate boats up to 20 metres with drafts of up to three metres. It also has a fuel dock, 50-tonne 'travelift', a crane and replacement parts.

The protected landscape of Barranco de Las Angustias covers four municipalities on La Palma: El Paso, Tijarafe, Los Llanos de Aridane and Tazacorte. This incredible natural space with enormous scenic value borders the Caldera de Taburiente National Park. The ravine starts at the area known as Dos Aguas, where the permanent streams from the caldera merge together: a fabulous place to go hiking due to its extraordinary beauty and uniqueness. Along the way, visitors will be able to see the Shrine to Nuestra Señora de Las Angustias – who is highly venerated on the island.

Entering from the Callaos beach that protects it, this dive follows a reef that runs parallel to the coast, barely separating from it. The bed gradually descends as you move into the depths.

With a simple access via a stone beach, you can visit different spots from a canyon teeming with marine life at shallow depths, to the wing of a sunken plane at 30 metres, or a rock that has been nicknamed the “Claw” because of its distinctive shape.
