Maroparque is a truly unique zoo. Situated on the slopes of a ravine in Breña Alta, in the east of La Palma, it is the only vertical zoo in the whole of the Canary Islands. Take a pleasant walk through the cool shade of the botanical garden. The walkway continues downwards with wooden bridges and cobbled paths and takes visitors through aviaries, where birds and parrots fly overhead and all around.

This route starts and ends in Tijarafe on the west coast of La Palma. It starts with a steep climb that takes you up to the forest where the trails are very technical. As you make your way through the forest, you descend on technical trails in a loop to Tijarafe.

This route starts in the capital of La Palma, Santa Cruz, and climbs up to Candelaria. It is a rather challenging trail with some technical paths through green vegetation and passing rocky trails.

This route starts in Los Sauces and goes off towards the forest trails of las Lomadas. Some areas are more technical than others and you are well protected in the shade of the laurel trees. This route has very little asphalt and is mainly forest trails. It has one long and steady climb and then the route is a falling descent until you arrive back at Los Sauces.

This route is situated along the rugged northern coast of La Palma. It starts at Roque del Faro and descends down to El Tablado through dense, green, technical trails that cross several canyons and continues in a winding climb up to Los Castros.

After a can't-miss visit to the information centre at the Caldera de Taburiente National Park and enjoying the impressive views from the Cumbrecita Viewing Point, we start the map at the recommended point for a day's orienteering through the thick pine forest in the north of La Palma. Continuing along a few kilometres of road to El Paso, we find all the necessary services.

Just a few kilometres but well maximised, this route goes along forest tracks. This volcano route made for bicycle starts at the recreational area in the Pilar shelter, in the centre of La Palma. This is the start of a circular tour on tracks of volcanic sand which approaches Cumbre Vieja on both sides. You will more than likely be able to see how the sea of clouds form on its slopes, a sight to behold in this natural park which divides the southern half of the island.
