Los Cancajos beach

The Los Cancajos beach is in the east of the island of La Palma, two kilometres north of the airport and also two kilometres to the south of the island capital, Santa Cruz de La Palma. The beach is a bay, protected by breakwaters of volcanic rock which guarantees tranquil waters throughout the year and a rich selection of marine life. Nogales beach

Nogales Beach, one of the best in La Palma, exemplifies what this beautiful island has to offer: mountains, trails, lava, ocean and lush green landscapes. Located in the northern town of Puntallana, its black volcanic sand, with shades of blue and grey, its spectacular cliffs and the mighty Atlantic have put it on the map; not only for surfers and naturists but also for lovers of solitude, beautiful views and nature trails. If, in addition, you happen to visit when the waters are calm, the possibility of being able to take a wonderful dip makes this a place almost without equal in La Palma.

Benehauno Centro de Interpretación Petroglifos de El Paso

Benehauno is the right place for lovers of prehistory and its symbols. This is an interpretation center for the pre-Hispanic petroglyph (symbolic design engraved in rock) stations found in El Paso. Inside, it houses an extensive exhibition of informative panels, audiovisual content and original archaeological pieces, including a hundred or so rock engraving stations such as those of Lomo de Tamarahoya and Lomo Gordo. To these we must add two of the most interesting and beautiful sets of petroglyphs of ancient Benahoare, such as the sites of La Fajana and El Verde.

Centro Etnográfico Casa El Maestro

The "Casa del Maestro" Ethnographic Museum is located in a traditional house rehabilitated to harbor it. Inside, you can enjoy five rooms that explain the different aspects of traditional life in Tijarafe. This museum houses a large number of aboriginal ceramic pieces. In addition, there is a permanent exhibition of images dedicated to the Devil's Dance, as well as the exhibition of several bigheads and the old Devil of Tijarafe. Craftsmanship is strongly rooted in the history and tradition of Tijarafe, making this museum one of the most representative of the area.

Parque arqueológico El Tendal

In the grounds of the El Tendal Archaeological Park visitors can discover the history of the Benahoritas, ancient aborigines of La Palma who lived thousands of years ago. Its main attraction is the gigantic cave of El Tendal in the Barranco de San Juan. The space is 60 metres in size with 16 separate hollowed out spaces. Trousseaus, bones, seeds and other relics have been found in the grounds of the site, and you can look at these items in the local visitor centre. In the walking route through El Tendal there are another 26 caves, settlements, necropolises, and rock carvings for visitors to enjoy.
