IV International Congress of the Descent of the Virgin

Santa Cruz de La Palma will host the IV International Congress of the Descent of the Virgin from November 5 to 7, an event that brings together specialists and researchers to delve into the cultural, historical, and heritage value of this emblematic celebration. Over three days, the Teatro Chico, the Fundación CajaCanarias, and other significant venues in the capital will transform into the stage for conferences, working groups, workshops, music, and dances that pay tribute to local tradition.

This congress offers a unique experience to explore the Bajada from new perspectives and share knowledge that contributes to the preservation of a legacy that is part of the collective memory of La Palma. The atmosphere experienced during these days will reflect the commitment to care for and transmit one of the island's most unique festivities.
