Fiestas en Honor a la Virgen de la Luz

The Villa of Garafia celebrates its patronal festivities in honor of La Virgen de La Luz during the third week of August. These festivities include a variety of activities, such as a fishing contest, children's events, and a day dedicated to the elderly, where seniors from the municipality gather to enjoy. The celebration culminates on the third Sunday of August with the Day of the Virgin, when the streets are adorned for the procession. This day is marked by the Solemn Celebration of the Eucharist and the emotional floral offering from local associations. The image of Our Lady of Light is carried on a majestic throne, accompanied by clergy, authorities, and a large crowd of faithful, concluding the procession with the "Hymn to Nuestra Señora de la Luz" in Plaza Ismael Fernández.
