Festivities of San Martin

The Fiesta de San Martín in La Palma, held on November 11th, is a celebration that commemorates a tradition deeply rooted in the island's culture. Originally an informal celebration in local wineries to mark the arrival of winter with the new wine, the festival featured the tasting of "San Martín wine" and the traditional feast of geese. Today, the Fiesta de San Martín is celebrated throughout La Palma with tastings of local products such as roasted chestnuts and wine, and is noted for the participation of children who fill the streets with songs and improvised music.
