14 to 20 April
Holy Week in Santa Cruz de La Palma is one of the most personality, wealth and charm of all those celebrated in the Canary Islands. It is a festival in which the city actively collaborates since, in addition to its broad religious sense, it has notable artistic and social values, with an undoubted tourist attraction. Prominent prominence takes on the rich imagery that, cover on the shoulders of the costaleros, runs through the main streets of the capital and among which stand out The Lord of the Cold Stone -impressive anonymous carving of Mexican origin originating in the sixteenth century-, the Lord of the Fall, of the Sevillian master Benito de Hita y Castillo, the Flamenco Calvary of the Sanctuary of Las Nieves, as well as the numerous works of the Orotavan sculptor Fernando Estévez.
