Bajada de la Pepa

The Bajada de La Pepa marks the beginning of the Fiestas de la Cruz de Las Canales, a popular celebration that blends humor, tradition, and community joy. The day begins with the enthronement of the Cross and the raising of the flag, followed by the much-anticipated descent of La Pepa from the ravine to Plaza Francisca de Gazmira, accompanied by batucadas and brass bands in a festive atmosphere. After this opening act, the night continues with a lively street party featuring performances by Los Tres de Caña, Orquesta Libertad, and Renzzo El Selector, kicking off several days of togetherness and local tradition.
